My daughter is getting married, yay! First daughter of three to get married. Today is Sept 13, 2016..she is getting married on Jan 21, 2017. She would like me, her mother, to give her away, so I have settled on my Air Force blue mess dress to wear for the occasion. Problem is, I haven't worn it since 2011 and that was 30 pounds ago. So, my goal here is to lose 30 pounds (at least!) prior to the wedding day.
I have been working on this about a week now, they say once you have been in a routine for two weeks, it tends to stick, so I have one more week to get through. I have started making sure I drink plenty of water (I have gone from one glass a day to at least 7-8 glasses so far) and I have been walking for approximately 40-45 minutes in the morning. I have lost 4 pounds so far. This may sound like alot to lose in only one week, but I had just gained the 10 pounds recently and rather quickly...so I am thinking it will be easy to get the first 10 pounds gone. I have been holding the other 20 pounds for the last year or so, so those pounds will be a bit more of a struggle. Right now I am walking as it requires less stress on my legs and I am out of shape. As I get in better shape, I may try some light jogging.
On this blog I want to record my daily water intake, any walking I do and anything else I may be doing to get down to my ideal weight. Since I have a deadline, I felt this was the best way to keep myself on task.
Start weight: one week ago-210 pounds
Today's weight- 206 pounds
Today's stats: goal-8 glasses of 8 oz of water/so far I have drank two glasses
walked for 36 minutes---I have a "circle" I walk in my neighborhood, it was taking me 45 minutes to walk in the past, but I have been getting faster so today's time (I did a little bit of jogging too) was only 36 minutes. I may need to find a way to make a bigger circle on my walk.
